Fern and Michael were married on Kauai in 1979. At that time there were no wedding companies offering weddings in scenic locations and not being affiliated with a specific local church, they were married in the Judges Chambers in Lihue.
Michael worked for many years as a carpenter and Fern became a licensed massage therapist and developed a full time practice teaching as well as performing massage. Life was busy raising two sons and being active in the community. Shortly after they moved to Kauai, Michael activated his Ministerial License and friends and family started to ask him to perform wedding ceremonies for them.
Over the next several years, Michael and Fern assisted many of their friends and neighbors with planning wedding celebrations. By that time, Kauai had increased in popularity as a visitor destination and people in general were looking for exotic and unusual places to celebrate their weddings and honeymoons.
In 1989, Fern became an ordained Minister and the focus was set for Island Weddings and Blessings to become a full time dedication.
Since that time, Fern and Michael have performed ceremonies for people from all over the United States as well as from Canada, England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
In addition to wedding ceremonies, Fern and Michael perform Blessing Rituals which honor special events such as, Baby Naming and Blessing, Land & House Blessings, Couple Commitments & Life Transitions.
Fern has also reestablished her massage practice with Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage performed as a Blessing Ritual. Fern and Michael work with Aloha International teaching Couple and Relationship trainings as well as offering counseling.
Since Fern & Michael were married on Kauai, they have a deep, personal connection with the romantic uniqueness and beauty of this Island.
Their ceremonies reflect their respect and caring for the Island, for each other, and the people whom they are serving in performing these Weddings.
